Welcome!

We originally started this website with the intention of having a meeting to see if there were like minded people that wanted a Calvary Chapel in Alabaster.  After meeting a prayer warrior that had the same heart we do, the connections began to happen one after another.  From a website, to fellowship with another family to a location, we skipped the “planning stage” to start service on June 1st.  

 

In July of 2023, my wife and I relocated to central Alabama with the excitement of becoming part of the community and finding a church (preferably a Calvary Chapel) that we could serve in and begin planting roots.  We were both born and raised in Southern California and we raised our family for the last 28 years just 50 miles north of Yosemite National Park (as the crow flies) in a former mining town called Sonora.   You may be asking - why Alabama? - The Lord had been slowly pruning us for a few years from our small town for our next adventure and I accepted a job as the station manager of WDJC.  When we arrived, we were suddenly empty nesters, in a strange land and incredibly homesick.  There were some things that we appreciated about the south, like southern hospitality is a real thing and being warned that we needed to pick a team!  It seems in the south you are also asked what church you go to.  We tried a couple local churches and even though the people were amazing, it wasn’t quite what we were used to.  After a year of frustration, we began to make the weekly journey to Calvary Chapel Trussville and felt quite at home, but it was much too far for us to really become a part of the congregation there.

 

Our church background of 30+ years has been with Calvary Chapel.  They focus on teaching the Word book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.  Our heart's desire is to equip you to have a relationship with the Lord and eventually for the work of the ministry that He has for you.
